LUG proudly shares the recent milestone in collaboration with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). On Wednesday, 24th April 2024, at the premises of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, GTEC confirmed its exemption approval for the Charter of Lancaster University Ghana.
The Acting Director-General of GTEC, Prof. Jinapor, elucidated the rationale behind this significant decision, highlighting Lancaster University Ghana’s status as a “branch campus” of Lancaster University, United Kingdom. Prof. Jinapor commended the partnership and collaboration between Lancaster University UK and Transnational Academic Group Ghana (TAG), underscoring the high standards upheld at Lancaster University Ghana. He also emphasized that while the exemption has been granted, all private universities, including Lancaster University Ghana, must adhere to GTEC‘s accreditation requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
Mr. Christopher H. Pilgrim, TAG Ghana’s Executive Director, reiterated TAG’s steadfast commitment to nurturing the longstanding partnership with Lancaster University UK and establishing a distinguished educational institution in Ghana, setting a benchmark for other regional private universities.
In a gesture of mutual respect and collaboration, Dr. Emmanuel Arthur invited Prof. Jinapor to serve as a guest speaker at Lancaster University Ghana’s upcoming graduation ceremony.
Highlighting the university’s dedication to advancing technology and engineering, the Lancaster University Ghana delegation announced the forthcoming launch of an A. I laboratory on campus. This cutting-edge facility is poised to revolutionize education and innovation in Ghana, positioning Lancaster University Ghana at the forefront of technological advancement.
The meeting was optimistic, with both parties expressing enthusiasm for future collaborations and advancements in Ghana’s tertiary education sector.
