Our Residence Halls

Akwaaba Hall

Conveniently situated within the university premises, Akwaaba Hall places you at the heart of campus life, just steps away from your classes, study spaces, and student activities.

Ekome Hall

Located less than five minutes from campus, Ekome Hall is operated by Lancaster University Ghana and provides a student living experience designed to the same standards as Akwaaba Hall, in a peaceful residential setting.

Students accommodated at Akwaaba and Ekome Halls enter into a residence agreement with Lancaster University Ghana. Both residence halls feature suite-style rooms with ensuite bathrooms, with configurations ranging from single occupancy to four students per room. Additionally, both halls have premium as well as standard suites, allowing you to choose the option that best matches your lifestyle and budget.

Rooms are Designed to Include

  • Curtains, bed, and mattress
  • Personal study desk and chair
  • Wardrobe and storage provision (individual or shared, depending on room configuration; confirmed at allocation)

Essential Services

  • Individual electricity meter per room
  • Shared pantry with microwave ovens for food warming
  • On-campus laundry facilities operated by an independent service provider
  • Standby generator for common areas and essential services (backup during power outages)
  • Borehole water supply with on-site storage tank (supplementing Ghana Water Company supply)
  • On-site hostel management and resident support (contact details and hours set out in the Tenancy Agreement)
  • Repair and maintenance support for structural, essential services, and provided fixtures (scope and response timelines set out in the Tenancy Agreement)

All residents are required to read and sign the LUG Tenancy Agreement before check-in. Please request a copy from the Hostel Management team at the time of booking. By paying the accommodation fee, residents confirm acceptance of the terms set out in that agreement. International student fees are quoted in USD for indicative purposes only.

Students have access to a variety of dining and shopping options both on and around campus, operated by independent service providers.

Cooking in accommodation rooms is not permitted. Shared pantry facilities with microwave ovens are available within each hall for food warming and light food preparation.

The campus also hosts a large cafeteria offering both local and international cuisine and a convenience store offering all essential items and groceries.
