The purpose of this guide is to provide you with easy access to the Online Library resources, collections, services and support available to you whilst studying at the Ghana campus.
At Lancaster University Ghana Library, we offer both physical and virtual book management services. We ensure that library resources are current, readily available and accessible anytime, anywhere. In terms of Library resources, we boast of a collection of over 2,000 print collections covering various subjects offered at LUG.
Our digital/electronic collection spans over 50,000 e-books and e-journals, accessible online especially through our university discovery tool known as One Search.
The physical library boosts the main reading area ideal for reading, research, and learning. We have six (6) discussion rooms equipped with TV screens for group study sessions, presentations, and discussions. Additionally, we have three (3) meeting rooms available for private study.
Our law room serves as a dedicated learning space for law students, and our e-resource section provides access to computers to view electronic resources. Furthermore, we offer photocopying, scanning, and printing services to support your academic needs.
Students are allowed to borrow up to two books for a period of two weeks. Renewals are permitted for an additional two-week period, provided that no one else has requested for them. Books may be renewed in person at the library.

NB: A book loaned out could be recalled when it is limited and requested by another user. Defaulters will not be cleared for graduation.
One Search is Lancaster University’s academic search engine with over 100,000 e-books and journals, videos, audio etc that enables users to search and locate information spanning from both the library’s holdings and external sources. On One Search, students can explore a wide range of academic resources, including e-books, e-journals, and databases, drawn from our extensive collection.
Databases are academic search engines. Explore the full range of databases available to you as a Lancaster University student. Explore over 385 databases covering various subject areas and well-known publishers such as Taylor & Francis, Emerald, Wiley, ProQuest, Lexis, Dennis Law, and Thomas Reuters, etc arranged A-Z.
LUG students can link up google scholar to their LUG school account to enjoy seamless full range view of full text journals and articles.

Resource Lists provide access to course readings and availability of library resources for a program or module.
How do I access my Resource Lists?Resource Lists are used to provide access to reading on your course you will probably access them via Moodle. Look out for links to Resource Lists, Course Reading or something similar on your Moodle course pages.

Journals are important sources of information for subject research. They contain collections of articles published in separates parts and at regular intervals, e.g. weekly, monthly or quarterly. Journals can also be referred to as periodicals, magazines or serials.
The Library provides access to thousands of journals online which can be found in our databases.
How do I find which journal titles are available?Information about which journal titles are available, plus details of their content coverage (holding information), can be found by searching the OneSearch or databases A-Z journal list.

The library collaborates with students to ensure the library extends its closing time. The volunteer program comes with lots of benefits.
The library offers support by organizing frequent workshops and training sessions to enhance students’ research and information skills. Some of the topics discussed at sessions include getting started with library resources, using databases and subject guides, one-search titbits, using e-book central, referencing, etc.
The library is opened Mon-Friday 8:00am-7:00pm
Saturdays and Sundays during Lent terms.
