To prepare students for the ever-competitive job market, Lancaster University Ghana recently partnered with SEO Africa to deliver a series of transformative workshops. The sessions aimed at refining essential employability skills, making students better equipped to take on professional challenges confidently.
Throughout the event, students immersed themselves in hands-on workshops covering CV writing, crafting standout cover letters, effective job application strategies, and mastering interview techniques. With expert guidance from the SEO Africa team, they gained practical insights into presenting themselves as top candidates for prospective employers.
One of the highlights was the interactive session on interview skills, where students practiced responding to challenging questions and received tailored feedback to improve their performance. Another standout moment came during the CV workshop, where participants learned how to highlight their achievements, strengths, and unique experiences in ways that grab an employer’s attention.
This collaboration underscores Lancaster University Ghana’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and the realities of the professional world. By providing students with opportunities to develop their soft skills and build confidence, LUG ensures that graduates are ready to excel in any field they choose.
A highlight of the session was reflecting on past successes, including Kafui Gadegbeku, one of last year’s beneficiaries, who credited the experience for helping him secure a summer internship as a Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst at Jefferies International in London. Reflecting on the internship’s impact, Kafui shared, “This experience broadened my view of the financial landscape and solidified my desire to pursue a career in investment banking. Studying concepts in class is one thing, but participating in cross-border transactions gave me new confidence and insight.”
The SEO Africa team also expressed excitement at engaging with LUG students, noting their enthusiasm and willingness to learn. “It’s inspiring to see such motivated individuals. They’re eager to take what they’ve learned here and put it into action,” said a representative from SEO Africa.
Lancaster University Ghana remains dedicated to empowering its students to achieve academic and professional success. Events like these exemplify the university’s focus on holistic education and fostering career-ready graduates.
