An English course designed for students who wish to raise their language skills for Higher Education and/or professional purposes.
The programme consists of four terms of ten weeks (nine teaching weeks and one assessment week per term), covering different topics designed to build language skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening, etc.). The programme is intended to lead students from elementary level to an intermediate level of English proficiency (an IELTS minimum score of 5.5).
The requirements are based on diagnostic assessment.
Applicants are offered admission based on results from individual oral and written assessments. These can be taken in person at our campus or remotely. Assessments may include Skype interviews.
NB: Stationery items, housing, meals and other incidental costs are not included in the tuition fees below.
The duration of an individual candidate’s course depends on the outcome of a diagnostic test that determines the entry point (Term 1, 2, 3 or 4).
Upon passing the final term examinations, a certificate of successful completion will be awarded to the student. Students could also gain direct entry into Lancaster University Ghana’s foundation and undergraduate programmes – provided they take an IELTS test privately and meet the entry requirements for their programmes of choice.
