This masterclass themed “Managing Strategic Change with Mr Frank Adu (CEO, CAL Bank) was designed to give a more practical insight into the module (Managing Operations) being taught during the Lancaster Executive MBA class.
This module examines how organisations can design and manage processes, resources and control systems to deliver quality and value-adding activities in the most effective way.
Every day, companies face changes, such as launching a new product or restructuring the organisation. What if companies made changes without making careful plans in a conscientious way? This masterclass explored the process of managing change in a structured, thoughtful way in order to meet organisational goals, objectives, and missions.
“Change is necessary for organisations to continue to thrive and meet and exceed the competition of industry competitors,” said Frank Adu during the masterclass.
Mr Frank Adu Jnr. is the Managing Director of CAL Bank Limited. He has over 26 years’ experience in the Ghanaian Banking sector. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds a BA (Hons) in Geography and an MBA (finance option). He is also an alumnus of the Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme, SAID Business School, University of Oxford.
Prior to his appointment as Managing Director, Frank was the Deputy Managing Director responsible for Operational and Income Generating activities of the bank. For 6 years he was the Head of the Bank’s Treasury Operations.
Frank has co-founded a very successful international school, The Roman Ridge School and serves as the Chairman of the Board of the School. He is the Chairman of the Board of Golden Beach Hotels Group and also a member of the Board of Metropolitan Life Ghana Limited. He is a member of the Board of the Foundation for Orthopedics and Complex Spine. He serves on the Advisory Board of the College of Humanities and the Finance Committee of the University of Ghana. He is a board member of Legacy Bond Limited, a special purpose vehicle set up for the repayment of debt owed by Government to the Bulk Distribution Companies (BDCs). He co-founded City Investments Company Limited, a highly successful Non-Bank Financial Institution which is now Premium Bank.
He was also awarded a degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa by the University of Ghana and has been recognised by the Legislative Black Caucus of the Georgia Assembly for his contribution to the macroeconomic stability, growth and prosperity of African countries. He is also a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2012 and has also received several awards including the Ghana Oil & Gas Association award for a “Promising Leadership Role” in the Industry.
