Cecilia holds a first-class Bachelor of Arts Degree in Linguistics and History from the University of Ghana, and a Dyslexia and Foreign Language Teaching Certificate from Lancaster University U.K. She acquired her Master of Arts degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), also at Lancaster University U.K.
Before joining Lancaster University Ghana’s faculty as a lecturer in 2017, Cecilia worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Ghana. Apart from standing in as EAP (English for Academic Purposes) and Critical Thinking lecturer, she is also responsible for designing and teaching an English Proficiency Programme (EPP).
She is the founder of Ceccy’s Home Tutoring Services: an academic support facility that provides academic counseling, individualised support to students and academic assistance to dyslexic learners. Her commitment to English language teaching has also driven her to set up an Adult Literacy Programme, where she voluntarily teaches English to adults as part of her service to the community.
Her research interests are mainly in education and dyslexia awareness.
Cecilia is a motivated academic with a passionate ambition to impart newly developed knowledge and skills to other people. The core values that carry her are Godliness, perseverance, integrity and loyalty.
