Lancaster University Ghana provides limited accommodation for eligible students on campus. There are two
hostels available, namely Maria and Camille Hostel, for both male and female students.
All rooms are furnished with single beds & mattresses, ceiling fans, air-conditioners, table-top fridges and study
desks. An inventory of shared and individual items provided in the room will be taken and handed over to the
allottee for the tenancy period.

• Freshers & Only students who have previously stayed in the hostel are eligible to apply. Hostel
accommodation is restricted to students two years on campus. i.e. FDN & UG1 or UG1 & UG2, depending
on the type of entry. Exceptions are made for students with certified medical conditions (documents need
to be submitted for consideration) and elected/nominated Hostel Representatives.

• Hostel Fee must be paid directly into the designated bank accounts of the university (bank details attached).
Payments can be made either in Ghana cedis or the USD equivalent (at the prevailing FX rate).

• Payment of hostel fees without applying online and receiving availability details by mail/WhatsApp from
the Hostel Management will be considered as void.

• Payment for hostel fees shall be made in full and in advance. This payment covers accommodation,
furnishing, appliances and fittings provided.

• Additional payment of Ghs2,000 shall be made for rooms with a balcony and private hallway.

• Copies of cheque deposit slips should be sent to us via email: [email protected] or submitted at the
Finance Department

• Allocation of rooms will be done only after confirmation of full payment for hostel fees is issued by
Finance.

• Hostel tenancy is for 9 months only.

• Occupants having been allotted beds shall under no circumstance sell, trade or transfer their beds to other
students.

• The USD equivalent of fees to be billed to the individual student account for accounting purposes. The university’s prevailing exchange rate shall be used as the effective rate.

• All rooms are fitted with separate electricity meters. Allottee/s of each room will be responsible for toping
up of electricity credits.

• Hostel fees are NOT refundable. Refunds to be allowed only when a student fails to meet LUG entry
requirements.

• Students will be liable for the cost of repair/replacement for damages to hostel property. Inspection of items
provided in the room will be done once every 3 months.

• Students will be charged for the supply of water from Ghana Water Company if the borehole system fails to
supply the required yield of water.

• A student is limited to booking and paying for a single bed only. Payment for additional beds to monopolise
a room will not be allowed.
