Lancaster University Ghana has inaugurated a new office space in Nigeria to complement its already existing campus in Accra, Ghana.
On Tuesday, 7th February 2023, an inauguration ceremony was held to officially open the doors of the new office to all prospective students and parents. The new office is located at the Nigeria Institute of Architect’s Building in Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Daniel Adkins, Group CEO of Transnational Academic Group (TAG), Mr. Chris Pilgrim, Chief Strategy Officer of Transnational Academic Group (TAG), Ms Omoleye, Director of the Ministry of Education (Nigeria) and delegations from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered institutes of Bankers of Nigeria, CNBC and Forbes Africa.
Also present were students and staff from Jextoban College, Mate Comprehensive High School, The Apostle Grammar School, Jeco College, and Murtala Mohamed Secondary School.
Addressing the gathering during the ceremony, Mr. Daniel Adkins, Group CEO of Transnational Academic Group (TAG), stated that Lancaster University Ghana was set up to give an opportunity to African students to acquire an international degree without traveling outside the continent. He also talked about the quality of education received by students of Lancaster Ghana and the limitless opportunities available to all students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Chris Pilgrim, Chief Strategy Officer of Transnational Academic Group (TAG) spoke about the partnership between the Transnational Academic Group and Lancaster University, UK. He also spoke about the programmes offered at Lancaster University Ghana and the Transnational Academic Group’s plan of setting up a TAG college in Nigeria to create an avenue for students to study abroad.
Giving a testimonial about the Lancaster Ghana experience, alumnus Segun Ojo stated that “Lancaster University Ghana is one of the best universities one can attend”. Also, giving her testimonial as a past student, Ms. Precious Temowo stated that, “Lancaster University Ghana has made me who I am today. I was privileged to be taught by the finest faculty and had plenty of opportunities to grow as a person”. She also added that “thanks to Lancaster University Ghana, I was able to pursue my dream and land a job in the banking sector. I must say, my experience at Lancaster University Ghana has helped me excel in my role”.
The ceremony ended with a networking and cocktail session.
