LUG proudly presented its inaugural Alumni Award to Dianne E. Kaye, ESQ Class of 2018, recognizing her exceptional professional achievements and commitment to community service. The award celebrates alumni who, within 10 years of graduating, have accomplished remarkable feats in their careers while exemplifying the core values of Lancaster.

From the moment Dianne stepped on campus in 2018, she distinguished herself as an outstanding student leader. She served as Assistant International Students Officer, SRC Welfare Officer, and Vice President of the Lancaster University Ghana Law Society. Balancing her academics with her leadership roles, Dianne graduated with First Class Honours and received the prestigious Lancaster Award (Gold), Founder’s Award, and the inaugural Lancaster Citizenship Award.

Reflecting on her time at LUG, Dianne said, “Lancaster taught me resilience and resourcefulness. As SRC executives, we learned to make magic happen with limited resources. These skills have served me well in my career.”

Dianne’s journey after graduation has been nothing short of inspiring. She completed her Master’s in International Law at Penn State University during the pandemic and was called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana in 2022. Today, she works at N. Dowuona & Company, a top-tier legal firm in Ghana. Her work spans legal research, international development, and strategic counsel, particularly for women-led businesses and SMEs.

Outside of the courtroom, Dianne is deeply involved in humanitarian efforts. In August 2023, she spoke at a focus group in Kigali, Rwanda, addressing Africa’s migration crisis and advocating for migrant health. She is also passionate about women’s empowerment and has worked with organizations that promote economic opportunities for women and children across Ghana.

“This award is more than just a recognition of my achievements,” said Dianne. “It’s a reflection of the experiences I had at Lancaster University Ghana that shaped my path.”

Her advice to the Class of 2024? “Take bold steps, dare to stand out, and always find a way to make a difference. Whether it’s through collaboration, kindness, or innovation, your impact matters.”

Dianne’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of education, resilience, and community engagement. The LUG community looks forward to seeing all she continues to accomplish in the years to come.
