Lancaster University Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening institutional partnerships with the Office of the British High Commission in Ghana through a courtesy visit to the newly appointed British High Commissioner, Christopher Rogg.
The University’s delegation included the CEO & Provost, Dr Emmanuel Arthur; Deputy Provost, Professor Cynthia Forson; Chief Finance Officer, Isaac Apeakorang; Sponsorship and Development Manager, Frederick Kwofie; and Marketing & PR Manager, Alberta Assiamah.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the University’s journey, including its growth and resilience before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as its evolving role within Ghana’s higher education landscape. Conversations also explored Lancaster University Ghana’s strategic positioning, institutional mandate, and its history of collaboration with the British High Commission.

A key highlight of the discussion was the significance of Lancaster University Ghana being the only British branch campus in Sub-Saharan Africa. The delegation emphasised the importance of strengthening partnerships with British businesses operating in the region, while also reinforcing the University’s role as a gateway for students progressing from undergraduate study in Ghana to postgraduate education in the United Kingdom and other partner institutions.
Both parties also explored ways to enhance alumni access to international pathways. This includes potential engagement sessions with organisations aimed at providing prospective students with clear guidance on available funding opportunities, application requirements, and eligibility criteria.
This visit marks an important step in reinforcing Lancaster University Ghana’s commitment to building meaningful partnerships that expand opportunities for students and contribute to the broader UK Ghana educational collaboration.
