Prof. Raymond Dziwornu is a development-oriented Associate Professor of Applied Economics, with over 20 years of experience in the higher education space; developing minds, leading teams, managing academic programmes, and practising academic citizenship. He is also a qualified Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional, involved in training and consulting. Raymond holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana, International Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance, Post-Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice, Lancaster University, and Certificate in Higher Education Administration, Zhejiang Normal University, China. Prof. Dziwornu has held several administrative positions including Doctoral Director, Faculty Dean, Head of Department, Programme and Research Coordinator. He initiated and facilitated the development of several new academic programmes, ensuring their effective administration, whilst promoting high academic standards. He is adept with instruction pedagogies, curriculum design, econometric modelling, strategic and business plan design, policy impact assessment and capacity development.
Raymond has published extensively in several peer-reviewed journals on productivity and efficiency analysis, agricultural risk and finance, food security, climate change, financial inclusion, technology adoption, and behavioural economics, and presented papers at local and international conferences. He has also won a few research grants, collaborated and executed research projects. He has successfully supervised several graduate and undergraduate students to completion and serves as academic advisor to several PhD students. Prof. Dziwornu serves as External Examiner to several local and foreign universities, Reviewer to some ranked Journals, and serves on Boards, as well as member of International Professional Bodies. Prof. Dziwornu is meticulous and dedicated in task performance, passionate for excellence, result-oriented, good interpersonal skills, and works effectively and collaboratively with all persons in cross-functional teams.
