Adeline Anyeley Aryeh-Sowah has stood out at Lancaster University Ghana not only for her academic brilliance but also for her resilience, leadership, and ability to inspire others. A law graduate of the Class of 2025, she graduates as both Valedictorian and recipient of the Chancellor’s Medal, one of the highest honours awarded at Lancaster.

To her peers, Adeline is remembered as a determined student leader who gave her all in service of the Lancaster Law Society, Creative Writing Society, and wider student community. She was known for her ability to balance her academic rigour with extracurricular leadership, even when challenges tested her resolve. Her time as Director of Moots and Debates reshaped the Society, laying the foundation for stronger coaching and competitions in the years ahead.

Her journey was not without struggle. In August 2024, she faced the profound loss of her father, a moment that tested her faith, her focus, and her resilience. Yet she persevered, drawing on family support, her mother’s encouragement, and her own sense of purpose. She finished her studies with distinction, earning an A+ in her dissertation and maintaining top grades across her law degree.

In her valedictory speech, Adeline reflected deeply on resilience and choice. She urged her peers to see setbacks not as failures but as opportunities to be shaped into something greater. Calling 2025 a “year of firsts,” she encouraged the graduating class to break new ground in their lives and careers, just as Ghana celebrated its first female vice president and Lancaster University Ghana celebrated its own milestones.

For her outstanding academic performance, leadership, and character, Lancaster University Ghana proudly honoured Adeline Anyeley Aryeh-Sowah, Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 and recipient of the Chancellor’s Medal.
