Senior management and heads of department from Lancaster University Ghana (LUG) and Lancaster University (LU) recently convened for a series of strategic planning sessions to shape the direction of the partnership over the next five years. The discussions brought together academic and administrative leadership to align priorities across five key pillars: Student Experience and Employability, Programme Portfolio, People and Culture, Stakeholder Engagement and Research, and Marketing and Reputation. Together, these pillars form the backbone of a tactical roadmap designed to strengthen LUG’s distinctiveness while deepening its connection to Lancaster’s global brand.
At the heart of the strategy is a renewed commitment to graduate outcomes. Sessions focused on defining and clearly articulating LUG’s global offer to the market, alongside expanding both digital and physical opportunities for global mobility.
Underscoring the entire strategy is an ambitious growth pathway to double student growth within five years. Leadership discussed how this growth will be achieved and refined across the period.
These strategic sessions mark an important step in shaping how LUG and LU will work together over the next five years growing the student body, enriching the academic offer, strengthening staff culture, deepening stakeholder relationships, and telling LUG’s story to the world. As tactical plans are refined and rolled out across departments, the partnership is positioning itself for a decade of sustained growth and impact.
