On Lancaster University Ghana’s campus, Halle Akosua Asantewaa Dotse has been many things to many people: a coder, a designer, a leader, and above all, a builder of communities. At the 9th Graduation Ceremony, her years of service and impact were recognised as she was named one of the recipients of the prestigious Founders’ Award.

To those who know her, Halle’s story is one of quiet but steady leadership. As President of the Computer Science Society, she worked with her team to launch Computer Science Week, a lively blend of technology, collaboration, and community spirit that brought together students and faculty alike. Even after her tenure ended, she stayed close to the society, mentoring new leaders and ensuring the foundation she helped build remained strong.

Her influence stretched beyond her faculty. As a founding member of Roar Digital Media Hub, Halle wore many hats,Tech Lead, Graphic Designer, administrative support, Editor-in-Chief, and Executive Producer. With each role, she shaped Roar into a thriving creative hub, where students could experiment, collaborate, and produce content that amplified student voices across campus.

For Halle, the award is not simply about titles or positions. “Leadership isn’t always loud. It’s about showing up consistently, being supportive, and staying true to your values,” she says. “If my journey shows anything, it’s that you can make a difference by just stepping up and giving your best, no matter the role.”

The Founders’ Award was created by the Co-Founders of the Transnational Academic Group, Mr. Rakesh Wahi and Mr. Zafar Siddiqi, to honour students who embody the values of Loyalty, Integrity, Attitude, Competence, and Commitment (LIACC). In her work, Halle has lived those values, whether in her faculty, in media, or in her everyday contributions to the life of the university.

As she looks beyond Lancaster, Halle hopes her time at LUG inspires others to lead with integrity and creativity. Her story is a reminder that true impact often lies in consistency, collaboration, and the courage to build something that lasts.
