On 22nd October, the Alumni Relations Office at Lancaster University Ghana hosted another impactful edition of the Apex Mentorship Program, centred on the theme “Bridging Skills and Opportunities: Positioning Yourself for Global Scholarships and Diplomatic Pathways.”

The session, held on campus, featured a distinguished guest mentor, Doreen Ameonu, Strategic Partnerships Manager at the British High Commission. Students from various programmes participated in an engaging and insightful discussion on career development, global opportunities, and pathways within international organisations.

Ms. Ameonu shared practical insights on navigating the global job market, understanding the structure and functions of diplomatic institutions, and effectively preparing for internships, scholarships, and professional opportunities in international spaces.

Students described the session as eye-opening and inspiring, noting that it provided them with actionable guidance to align their academic work with long-term career goals.

The mentorship session reflects the Alumni Relations Office’s continued commitment to creating meaningful connections between students, alumni, and industry professionals, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world experience.

Through initiatives like this, Lancaster University Ghana continues to empower students with the tools, networks, and perspectives needed to succeed in an increasingly globalised world.
