Business and Politics week is hosted annually and is marked by a variety of seminars and events which helps to develop the professional business knowledge and skills of our students while building their personal and professional networks.
This year’s Business and Politics week took place on 27th to 28th March, 2023 with the theme “Contemporary Issues in Business and Politics”. Throughout the week’s celebration, there were series of interactive events and opportunities for students to interact closely with employers and industry thought leaders to enable them develop essential skills and understandings required for success.

Monday – 27th March, 2023
The first day of the Business and Politics week celebration brought in seasoned speakers who shared their experiences and gave useful tips to succeed in their career path.
A seminar titled “Expectations of Today’s Employer” with the CEO of Ghana Employer’s Association, Mr. Alex Frimpong about the skills employers are looking for in graduates in today’s job market.
A seminar titled “Civic consciousness, an aspect of tertiary education in Africa” with Mr. Johnnie Hughes, Journalist and Morning Show Host on 3FM. The seminar conscientized students to take genuine interest in matters pertaining to societal development.
A seminar titled “Personal Branding” with Stephanie Adu-Mudikongo on how students can combine their skills and narratives to control the narrative about themselves and introduce themselves in the best light possible.
Tuesday – 28th March, 2023
The second day of the Business and Politics week celebration was an industrial visit to Cargill and the Cocoa Processing Company at Tema. The visit, which had an impressive number of students from both the Business and PPR department gave students an insight into what working in a manufacturing company is like. Students also had the opportunity to listen to seasoned employees of the companies, take a tour of the manufacturing plant and network with staff.
