Lancaster University Ghana (LUG) announced the opening of the 3rd Annual Business Cup Challenge for Ghanaian and Nigerian high school students. 

The Business Cup Challenge is a unique marketing platform to challenge high school students and introduce them into the business world at a young age. Students are encouraged to review and implement real life business plans, analyze critical business scenarios and present their cases to an academic panel which is headed by Professor John Grainger, Provost of Lancaster University Ghana. This inter school competition will bring together the finest students and business ideas from high schools throughout Ghana & Nigeria. 

Currently in its third year, The Business Cup Challenge 2015 will see teams delivering solutions to case studies, prepared by Lancaster University Ghana for two consecutive weeks with additional 10 days for the finals. As the weeks go by, the schools will be marked on their analysis and problem solving abilities. The six-week competition began on 5th October, 2015 where the first case study was releases and the finals will be held at the College of Physicians and Surgeons on 14th, November 2014.

Supported by Stanbic Bank Ghana as the main sponsors of the event, the competition gives students the opportunity to win the trophies for their schools and a cash prize of GHS 7,000 for the winning team as well as scholarships from Lancaster University Ghana while developing new business ideas and gaining valuable knowledge.

How the Business Cup Challenge works

The first two case studies with guidelines will be released on the BCC website on 5th October and 12th October, 2015. All answers must be submitted by following the link http://bcc.lancaster.edu.gh/user/login, there will be a league table on the BCC website which can be accessed via  http://bcc.lancaster.edu.gh/user/login, there will be no elimination during the preliminary stage. However, the top ten ranked teams will gain access to the grand finale, will be delivered to qualified teams on 2nd November, 2015 

The competition will be judged by panel consisting of faculty from LUG as well as executives from partner organizations.
