The first masterclass series for the Lancaster Executive MBA 2nd cohort explored the Leadership Practice and Responsibility module.
The EMBA module allows the student to explore ideas on leaders, leading and leadership. It is practically focused, developing political, decision making, and motivating skills. And it allows the student to critically explore and evaluate their own leadership practice.
The masterclass on “Leadership Practice and Responsibility” was delivered by Mr John Mawuli Ababio (Chairman of Phoenix Capital Advisors Ghana Ltd, and a subsidiary of Phoenix Capital Advisors SA (PCA) in Cote d’Ivoire).
It was a useful introduction, not only to the 2nd cohort students but also aspiring mindful managers as it allowed participants to gain substantial knowledge on leadership practices and also have a feel of how the Executive MBA programme is delivered.
John Mawuli Ababio has about 25 years’ experience in structuring private equity and project financing transactions in Africa. Mr Ababio is currently the Chairman of Phoenix Capital Advisors Ghana Ltd, a subsidiary of Phoenix Capital Advisors SA (PCA) in Cote d’Ivoire. Under an Advisory Agreement with PCM Capital Partners which is registered in Mauritius, PCA are Managers of the West African Emerging Markets Growth Fund (WAEMGF) which invests in growth oriented SMEs in the West African sub region (outside of Nigeria). He is also the Executive Chairman of PJ Greene Ltd, an Accra based corporate advisory consultancy. Prior to these positions, he served as Managing Director of AVCA. He serves on the Boards of several West African companies.
