Lancaster University Ghana (LUG) hosted H.E. Rosemary Mbabazi, the Rwandan High Commissioner, on 27th November 2024. Her visit marked a significant milestone in the growing collaboration between Lancaster University Ghana and Rwanda, highlighting the power of education to bridge nations and inspire change.
Welcomed by Dr. Emmanuel Arthur, CEO/Provost, and Prof. Cynthia Forson, Deputy Provost, H.E. Rosemary Mbabazi engaged in fruitful discussions with the university’s management team. Key topics included the partnership between Lancaster University Ghana and the Transnational Academic Group (TAG) and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
A standout moment of her visit was a discussion on Lancaster University Ghana law students’ recent study trip to Rwanda, where they explored the country’s innovative Home-Grown Solutions in justice and governance. H.E. Rosemary Mbabazi commended the law programme, emphasizing its role in fostering cultural understanding and academic growth.
The High Commissioner also toured the vibrant Lancaster University Ghana campus and met with Rwandan students pursuing their education in Ghana. She praised them for upholding Rwanda’s core values of unity, patriotism, and hard work and encouraged them to excel in their academic journeys and become ambassadors of excellence.
In her closing remarks, H.E. Rosemary Mbabazi expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening ties with Lancaster University Ghana. “We are thrilled by the opportunities this partnership presents,” she remarked.
