LUG had the distinct honor of hosting the TAG Foundation Education Trust Fund Scholarship Award Presentation on October 2, 2024. This prestigious event took place in the university’s boardroom, where two outstanding female students—Jessica Adjei, and Precious Quartey were presented with scholarships for their exceptional academic potential in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).

The TAG Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Transnational Academic Group (TAG), is dedicated to providing financial assistance to brilliant but underprivileged young women pursuing education in STEM disciplines. By offering scholarships to these students, the foundation hopes to empower them to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic growth of the country.

During the event, the trustees of the foundation elaborated on their mission to sponsor at least two outstanding girls annually, encouraging them to achieve their academic dreams while breaking gender stereotypes. The foundation is committed not only to supporting these students financially but also through mentorship programs and career development resources, ensuring they thrive academically and professionally.

The presentation culminated with each scholarship recipient sharing their passion for their chosen field of study, a moment that showcased the powerful impact of the foundation’s work. With LUG at the heart of this initiative, the partnership between the institution and the foundation strengthens its commitment to promoting leadership and academic excellence among young women in Ghana.
