The accounting courses involve detailed technical material to enable you to grasp key concepts necessary for analysing and preparing information to meet companies’ external financial reporting requirements.

The hands on experiences acquired during this course will allow you to gain strong skills in time management, resource management, qualitative decision making and analytical thinking.  These are the essential competencies necessary for managers in any industry and/or company to make impactful and informative decisions which ultimately contribute to the success of the company.

We combine the practical aspects of finance with the business environment – as a student here, you will have the added advantage of being able to engage with and use case studies from real firms to aid you in understanding and appreciating finance first hand.

Based on your academic standing you have the option of spending your second year at our main Lancaster campus in the UK.  This is great for those of you who would like to take a year to experience the British culture without putting your studies on hold.  Other benefits of a year abroad is the opportunity to develop your cultural competence and to widen your global network.  It broadens your education in a new teaching and learning context and provides you with different perspectives on your discipline.

Exemptions have been awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for our BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance programme (2020-2024).

Many of the modules studied for an Accounting and Finance degree at Lancaster will help our graduates gain up to 6 exemptions, should they decide to pursue chartered accountancy.

This means that graduates interested in becoming chartered accountants via the ACCA route, will have to write far fewer exams in order to do so.
